What is it?
Bichectomy is a surgical procedure to help patients with full, round or “chubby” cheeks achieve a more sculpted and athletic facial appearance. A Bichectomy is also known as a buccal lipectomy.

After a Bichectomy, the patient will notice that they have lost weight and have a more contoured face with more prominent cheek bones. The removal of the buccal fat pad is done through a small incision inside the mouth, without a scar and heals quickly. This is usually done under local anesthesia.

Candidates
It is a surgical procedure indicated for people who want to reduce the bulge in their cheeks, secondary to the presence of these fat pads that produce a face that is too round, thus contributing to a facial imbalance.

If you are dissatisfied with a round “baby” face, which occurs when the buccal fat pads you had as a child stay with you into adulthood, contact us to schedule a consultation for the removal of that excess buccal fat.
