The College of Aesthetic and Reconstructive Plastic Surgeons of Baja California is a civil association with academic purposes and integrates 73 (from Tijuana, Ensenada and Rosarito and the 16 who are in the process of joining from Mexicali) Aesthetic and Reconstructive Plastic Surgeons certified by the Mexican Board of Aesthetic and Reconstructive Plastic Surgery belonging to the National Regulatory Committee of Medical Specialties Councils CONACEM according to Article 81 of the General Health Law.
He informs you that the members belonging to the college are duly trained and certified and can be recognized by the population as specialists for the following elements.
You will find the web pages www.cirugiaplastica.org.mx, www.cmcper.org.mx and www.ccperbc.org where you can verify that the surgeon is a specialist in Aesthetic and Reconstructive Plastic Surgery.
2.-The only specialists whose academic training is recognized by prestigious universities are those who are certified as specialists in plastic and reconstructive surgery and certified by the Mexican Board of Aesthetic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, requirements that are indicated in article 272 Bis of the General Health Law in order to be able to perform surgery for aesthetic purposes.
With this background we inform that C. “Alexander Leroy” who performed a cosmetic surgery to Lilian Carolina Gastélum Flores in which she lost her life, is NOT an Aesthetic and Reconstructive Plastic Surgeon, therefore does not belong to our College nor to the Mexican Association of Aesthetic and Reconstructive Plastic Surgery and is not certified by the Mexican Board of Aesthetic and Reconstructive Plastic Surgery.
Therefore, we recommend the general population to verify the studies, university of origin and that the surgeon is a Certified Plastic Surgeon before undergoing surgery for aesthetic purposes.
